Ximena Violante (they/he) is a Mexican trans musician, teacher, composer, actor, and cultural producer uplifting the Latinx and LGBTQ+ community through traditional and original music. 

In 2015, they co-founded Son Revoltura, a collective of son jarocho, an Afro-indigenous Mexican tradition. Through weekly open workshops and community events, they have fostered one of the few queer- and trans-led spaces in Philly to celebrate Mexican culture. As the bandleader of Interminable, he crafts original music in Spanish that weaves together an innovative tapestry of sounds inspired by son jarocho, jazz, rock, funk, and electronic music.  In 2018 they released their debut album, rebirth::renacer.  Their music inspires us all to harness our creative power and actively build a more just and liberated world. 

He Music Directed the Pew-funded original play NICHOS, a 3-year community-based process that premiered in 2024, exploring how colonization and migration shaped Mexican identity in Philly.

Ximena is a recipient of the 2024 Transformation Award and Art and Change Award from the Leeway Foundation, a 2023-24 Folk Arts Apprenticeship from the PA Council on the Arts, and winner of a 2024 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy for their Pride Month interview with Telemundo62. They have performed internationally, from Philly’s World Café Live and the Kimmel Center, to Mexico’s prestigious Auditorio Nacional and Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, where renowned indigenous women's wind band Mujeres del Viento Florido performed an arrangement of his song El Agua.

Ximena Violante (él/elle) es un músico, maestro, compositor, actor, y gestor cultural mexicano usando la música tradicional y original para poner en alto a sus comunidades Latinas y LGBTQ+. 

En 2015, fue co-fundador de Son Revoltura, un colectivo de son jarocho, música Afro-indígena mexicana.  Con talleres y eventos comunitarios, han fomentado uno de los pocos espacios liderados por gente queer y trans donde se celebre la mexicanidad en Philly.  Como lider del grupo Interminable, hace música original en español que teje un sonido único inspirado por el son jarocho, el jazz, rock, funk, y la música electrónica.  En 2018, sacaron su primer disco, rebirth::renacer.  Sus canciones nos inspiran a tomar la rienda de nuestro poder creativo, para construir un mundo liberado. 

Fue Director Musical para la obra original NICHOS, un proceso comunitario de 3 años que se estrenó en 2024 y exploró cómo la colonización y la migración han impactado la identidad mexicana en Philly. 

Ximena recibió la Beca de Transformación y de Arte y Cambio de la Fundación Leeway en 2024, la Beca de Aprendizaje en Artes Tradicionales del Consejo de las Artes de Pensilvania en 2023-2024, y un Emmy de la Región Mid-Altánica en 2024 por su entrevista con Telemundo62 para el Mes del Orgullo.  

Se ha presentado internacionalmente, desde el World Café Live y el Kimmel Center de Filadelfia hasta el Auditorio Nacional y el Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris en México, donde la renombrada banda de vientos de mujeres indígenas Mujeres del Viento Florido tocaron un arreglo de su composición El Agua. 

No se pierdan sus siguientes presentaciones en Filadelfia el 16 de mayo para el Estreno de EP de Interminable, evento que resaltará artistas trans racializados.  También harán su debut en el Mann Center ambos Interminable y Son Revoltura para el evento Downstage: A Taste of Home con la celebrada chef Cristina Martínez.
